High Expectations

Trailhead is accessible by roughly 60km drive on FSR. Followed by a final approach on foot to the cave that is approximately 4km hike with 600m elevation gain, with optional 4km hike and 600m elevation loss should you chose to return home after caving. Cave length is 334m, and has a depth of 38m, majority of cave passages are "relatively horizontal", but SRT skills are still required to participate. A single 8m vertical rappel with a rebelay will allow skilled cavers access to "The Little Room", aptly named second as the largest natural underground cavern in Canada. Prerequisites for the trip: Efficient in SRT Ability to do a long and difficult hike. Plan to cave Saturday, with the potential to explore more caves in the area on Sunday.
