This is an exploration trip to Rabbit Skull Cave, located in a cliff on the west side of the trail to Junction Creek Falls.
We'll be rock climbing on rope about 30m up to the entrance, so all registrants must be comfortable with heights and must have their own harness and caving equipment (cleaned in accordance with latest WNS decontamination protocols). More information on the cave can be found in a post here on the forum in General Topics along with a YouTube video.
We'll likely be the only people to have ever been in the cave, besides the two guys from the video. The trip will be focused on documenting the cave with photos and videos, pushing any leads, and putting together an initial sketching of the cave to BCRA Grade 1B.
The date is flexible and depends on weather, but alternate dates are the 27th and the 28th. It'll be a day trip: meet at the trailhead for Junction Creek Falls at 8:00am and we'll all hike to the cave, then we'll climb up and document as much as we can during the day.
Anyone with surveying experience or equipment (DistoX) would be a great help. If you'd be interested in exploring uncharted territory, be sure to sign up!
